WordWorx CEO Retreat Coming Up on 7th December 2023

On the 7th of December 2023, I will be unavailable due to a CEO retreat, an annual event dedicated to preparing for the upcoming year. On this day, both myself and my company, WordWorx, will be unavailable for any work-related activities.

What is the CEO Retreat?

The CEO retreat serves as a time for comprehensive planning and preparation for the business in the year ahead. Before diving into the planning process for 2024, I take a deep dive into the events of 2023. This involves assessing what went well, identifying areas for improvement, and reflecting on whether I achieved my monetary and non-monetary goals as a copywriter and communication specialist. I seek to replicate successful strategies from the past year and build on positive achievements in the upcoming year.

What Happens During a CEO Retreat?

During the retreat, I create a vision board — an idea inspired by Oprah Winfrey. Several years ago, I first crafted a vision board when I dreamed of exploring Europe and finding job opportunities abroad while residing in South Africa.

This simple yet impactful practice involves using a large piece of paper or cardboard, old magazines, newspapers, photographs, scrap paper, glue, and pens or pencils.

During the process, I visualize my goals and dreams and help them come into being for the year ahead. Creating a vision board has been fundamental to my journey as a writer, communication professional, and content marketer.

Although I may not consistently create a vision board each year, I always strive to list my goals for the upcoming year well in advance. Unlike when I left this task until the last day of the year, running my business full-time has taught me the importance of dedicating ample time for reflection and goal-setting.
