2025 Sustainability Report for a Belgium-Based Mining Company

The Brief:

I was asked to refine and elevate the company’s 2025 sustainability impact report. While a large amount of content was already in place, it needed significant rewriting to fit the company’s editorial style, engage a diverse mix of stakeholders, and meet evolving European sustainability reporting requirements. I reshaped the text to be more accessible and impactful, transforming generic statements into clear, concrete messages. Drawing on the company’s previous reports, I also provided advice on gaps and areas for improvement to ensure the report reflected both compliance and best practice. The result was a polished, human-centred report that balanced data with compelling storytelling and gave stakeholders a stronger sense of the company’s progress and commitments. The 2025 report will be published shortly, and as soon as it is available, it will be shared here.

About the Organisation:

A Belgium-based mining company operating internationally, committed to strengthening its sustainability practices and stakeholder transparency.

Beeld en Geluid – RECHARGE Policy Recommendations

The Brief:

Beeld en Geluid (Sound and Vision) in the Netherlands approached me to provide academic editing services for their policy recommendations document, “Enhancing participatory approaches in Cultural Heritage Organisations for a more sustainable and inclusive sector”. The report was produced as part of the EU-funded RECHARGE project (Resilient European Cultural Heritage As Resource for Growth and Engagement), which supports cultural heritage organisations across Europe in developing sustainable participatory business models. native english copyeditor My role as copy editor was to refine the text for clarity, consistency, and flow. This involved polishing complex academic and policy language into professional, plain English that would be accessible to a broad audience—including policymakers, cultural heritage professionals, and researchers. I also ensured correct grammar, tone alignment, and overall readability, while maintaining the original intent and academic integrity of the document. The result is a well-structured, polished publication that communicates the project’s findings and recommendations with precision, helping cultural heritage organisations across Europe better engage communities and create lasting value.

Kiwa – ESG Report 2024

The Brief:

Kiwa approached me as an experienced ESG report writer with a draft version of their 2024 ESG Report—an initial compilation of texts gathered from various internal stakeholders. I was brought on to deliver full copywriting services, which involved rewriting the entire report from the ground up. This included reworking existing content for clarity and tone, as well as creating brand-new sections where no material previously existed.

As part of the process, I ensured that all content aligned with Kiwa’s editorial style and internal communication guidelines. The aim, as an experienced sustainability report writer in the Netherlands, was to establish consistency in tone of voice, messaging, and structure across the report—something that had been missing in earlier editions.

One of my key contributions as an ESG report writer was introducing a much stronger narrative. I developed a clear red thread to connect the different elements of the report, transforming a set of disconnected contributions into a cohesive and engaging sustainability story. By providing context around individual topics and linking them to Kiwa’s broader ESG strategy, the final result is a professional, well-structured publication that more accurately reflects the company’s values and ambitions.

Following publication, I also wrote a series of intranet posts to help promote the report internally—ensuring that employees across the organisation were aware of the report’s key messages and could easily access and share it. This added layer of communication supported internal engagement and reinforced Kiwa’s ESG commitments.

About the Company:

Kiwa is a global leader in testing, inspection and certification, employing over 10,000 professionals in more than 40 countries. The company operates across a wide range of sectors including construction, water, energy, food, health and the environment—helping clients achieve their quality, safety and sustainability goals.

If you’re looking for an ESG report writer who can deliver both the strategic narrative and the detailed copy, this project showcases exactly that.

The Brief:

Kemin has been a valued client of mine for years, and I’ve worked with them on a variety of marketing and corporate communication projects. In late 2024–2025, I helped create the Sustainability Spotlight magazine, Voices Driving Change at Kemin Animal Nutrition & Health EMENA. This magazine was designed for employees and sales teams to showcase Kemin’s sustainability efforts to clients. I managed the project from start to finish—coming up with ideas, planning topics, and interviewing 13 employees working on sustainability. I also adapted the content for Kemin’s sustainability blog and wrote LinkedIn posts so the team could easily share each story online. This project helped bring Kemin’s sustainability efforts to life while giving employees and sales teams a great tool to share their work. It also highlights my role as a thought leadership writer in the Netherlands, transforming internal insights into external-facing stories. Galileo Global Education – Impact Report 2023-2024

The Brief:

Galileo Global Education (GGE) engaged me as their sustainability report copywriter to manage the creation of their Impact Report for 2023-2024. As an impact report writer, I oversaw project planning, structure development, and content creation to align with the new CSRD reporting requirements. While the report’s foundation was based on the previous version, this year’s report introduced significant changes to align with the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) requirements. This significantly shifted from the prior year’s voluntary report, adding regulatory depth and complexity. Working closely with GGE’s internal teams, I ensured that the report’s content reflected the company’s sustainability goals and aligned with its evolving strategy. Below is a short video of the final publication.

The Brief: During the latter part of 2021, I worked extensively with Kemin Industries in Belgium to completely rewrite web copy for their EMENA branch. This involved re-writing main web pages, a large number of products and services pages, but also writing some product pages from scratch (or from already existing Technical Literature). The purpose was to ensure greater coherency in terms of the style and tone of voice, resulting in a stronger brand voice for Kemin EMENA. Kemin Industries – Editorial Style Guide

The Brief: At the end of 2020, I worked with Kemin Industries in Belgium, to create their very first Editorial Style Guide. The purpose was to ensure coherency when it comes to writing and to define the EMENA region’s brand voice, style and tone. I performed a content audit, examining their website, all marketing material (print and digital) and email marketing campaigns. From there, I drafted the guidelines taking my research of the existing brand voice into consideration and coupling this with Kemin’s wish for a stronger voice and clearer style. The EMENA branch was pleased with the result and there has been global uptake on the outcome since. Amels — Copywriting & Copy Editing

The Brief: I worked on the copy-editing of various articles for a corporate publication as part of the re-launch of the Amels brand (Damen Yachting). This work was commissioned by an agency based in Amsterdam on behalf of Damen Yachting. Looye Kwekers (Growers) — Script Writing & Copy Editing

The Brief: I worked on a corporate movie script for the Dutch company Looye Kwekers (Growers) as part of their company rebrand. Initially, a script had been written in the Dutch language, and the movie was to be created in Dutch with English subtitles. The company wanted to translate the subtitles into English to reach a wider audience. My work involved not just translation but transcreation — ensuring impact and flow. This project showcases my expertise as a business copywriter for Dutch companies reaching international audiences. This work was commissioned by an advertising agency based in Amsterdam on behalf of Looye Kwekers. About the Company: Looye is renowned as a grower of delectable tomatoes, firmly establishing itself among the top producers in the Netherlands with its esteemed brands, Looye Honingtomaten and Looye JOYN tomatoes. LIBER: Services Brochure & Web Copy

The Brief: I wrote text for a brochure for LIBER (Ligue des Bibliothèques Européennes de Recherche – Association of European Research Libraries). The purpose was to create both webpage copy and thereafter tweak this for a printed brochure. There was no initial text about the services offered by the organisation. Hence, I did extensive research to determine the key services, thereafter I drafted the text, checked it with the relevant stakeholders, and liaised with the graphic designer on the look and feel of the brochure. The print version was distributed to over 400 people during the LIBER Annual Conference in Denmark in 2022 and was well-received by the Executive Board.
